India travel guide

Article by Direct Line Travel Insurance

‘Incredible India’, the current slogan of the Indian tourist board, aptly describes the sensation that is India. It is a land for all seasons and all reasons. India is a land of extremes and most visitors have trouble deciding if they love it or hate it. Either way, India will inspire, excite, engage and leave its mark on you.

A sensory explosion

India is exciting, inspiring and heart wrenching. The stunning scenery will take your breath away while the contrast between rich and poor will make your heart bleed while India’s ancient history and beliefs seem to transcend time and exist in parallel with modern life. From brightly coloured saris on the sun-baked fields of Rajasthan to noisy cars avoiding sacred cows on ramshackle streets, India will enthrall you and challenge you at the same time.

Action and adventure

India has such a wide variety of natural wonders that you could visit year after year and still not see it all. There are massive mountains, tropical jungles, sparse deserts, sweeping coastlines, mystical rivers and secret backwaters to explore. To see as much as you can in the time you have, take a cross-country train trip. It is possibly the best way to see as much of India as possible and the train journey is an adventure in itself.

If you like a bit of action on your holiday, there are a number of activities available like trekking and kayaking. If you do plan to take part in outdoor activities, you need to make sure your travel insurance policy covers you.

Down time

India is a popular destination for the relaxation and revitalisation of body, mind and soul. You can relax on a tranquil beach in Kerala or Goa and partake in the ancient art of yoga, mediation and ayurveda. Depending on your budget, converted palaces and colonial buildings offer luxury accommodation at affordable prices.

A brief history of India

The founders of the Indus Valley Civilisation travelled across the Himalayas from Sumeria (now Iraq) to settle in a part of the northwestern Indian subcontinent about 5,000 years ago. The Indus Valley Civilisation developed many forms of ancient writing, religion and ayurveda.

India has seen many kingdoms and empires come and go since then. Most notably The Mahajanapadas kingdom and the Gupta Empire. This was a time that was known as ‘The Golden Age of India’ and when Hinduism and Buddhism spread across Southeast Asia. Islam arrived in the 8th Century.

In the 15th Century most of northern India was ruled by Delhi Sultanate followed by the Mughals. This was a time when art and architecture thrived in northern India. To the south and west, the Maratha Empire and Vijayanagara Empire had taken control. In the mid-18th Century and the 19th Century, the British East India Company gradually annexed India. After many years under British rule, India became independent again in 1947 after being partitioned from Pakistan. Bangladesh became independent in 1971.

From coast to coast and everything in between

India largely lies on a peninsula that juts into the Indian Ocean. It has a coastline of more than 7,000 kilometres stretching from the Arabian Sea in the west to the Bay of Bengal in the east.

India shares land borders with Pakistan, China, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar and Bangladesh. The climate in India varies from equatorial in the far south to alpine in the upper reaches of the Himalayas.

The fertile Indo-Gangetic Plain covers most of northern, central and eastern India. The Deccan Plateau covers most of Southern Indian and the Tahr Desert stretches into part of western India. India’s major rivers are the Ganga (Ganges) and the Indus. The Lakshadweep Islands and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands also fall under Indian sovereignty.

When to visit

Weather wise, the best months to visit are from November to mid- March when the weather is cooler but the sun still shines. India is a tropical country with hot weather that varies in extremity from region to region. The hottest months of the year are from April to June. The wet season, when Monsoon rains produce wet and stormy weather on the coast is from mid-July to September.

Luxury Travel Ltd Kicks Off Helicopter Services to Veteran Travelers to Old Battle Fields in Ba Ria Vung Tau

Article by Luxury Travel Co, Ltd.

The Luxury Travel Company (www.luxurytravelvietnam.com ) is Vietnam’s first luxury tour company and full travel service agency. Luxury Travel is experienced in providing special services and unique tourism products to luxury global travelers.

Long Tan is a village in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Vietnam, at latitude 10 Degree 31′ N, and longitude 107 Degree 16′ E. When it was part of South Vietnam it was in Phuoc Tuy province. It is renowned for its rubber plantations and hosts a very small population of roughly 1,200 people.

The Battle of Long Tan is arguably the most famous battle fought by the Australian Army during the Vietnam War. It was fought in a rubber plantation near the village of Long Tan, about four kilometres north east of Vung Tau, South Vietnam on August 18-19, 1966.

The action occurred when D Company of the 6th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR), part of the 1st Australian Task Force (1 ATF), encountered the Viet Cong (VC) 275 Regiment and elements of the D445 Local Forces Battalion. D Company was supported by other Australian units, as well as New Zealand and United States personnel.

The battle is often used in Australian officer training as an example of the importance of combining and coordinating infantry, artillery, armour and military aviation.

This adventure days start with picking up at 07.30am from the main lobby of hotel in Saigon after breakfast and travelers drive to Tan Son Nhat Heliport to fly to Ba Ria – Vung Tau.

“A large antenna is still visible on ‘Radar Hill’. You will fly over the coastal city and have 15 minutes on the sky to see the panorama of the former Nui Dat Task Force base. Then, you will land at Vung Tau Airport. This bird view is great and emotional especially for veterans” said Thomas Chu, Senior Sales Executive of Luxury Travel Company.

Luxury Travel’s driver will wait for travelers there then transfer them to Long Tan – Nui Dat to see these little remains of the vast camp except the columns of the main gate by car. The former runway is now a wide street in the local village and what was the heli-pad is now a soccer field. A school established by Australian veterans is nearby. Later, drive past the location of the Horseshoe (access not permitted these days due to mining activity) to the Decourtney Rubber Plantation and pause to reflect at the Long Tan Cross before helicopter back to Ho Chi Minh City where travelers arrive at 5pm and return by car to hotel in Saigon.

“We believe that travel experiences are not “one size fits all,” but are instead very personal, with each aspect tailor made to specific tastes and preferences. Article by Johnie Traveler

There are some thinks what the peoples usually want to do and also many what they don’t, but from such reasons they are forced to do. It is just a way of living. But all of us will agree that it’s only few thinks on the planet that all the peoples are willing to do, any time everywhere. One of them is holiday travel. Traveling for fun and relaxation, regardless of the destination, cause in present days, traveling guide sites provides answers. Because of that we are here to make a virtual tour, traveling to approach the moment of satisfaction on the journey of all who visit this site. Travel stories virtual or real are from long time ago. Try to remember the “Around the world in 80 days”, the famous book of Jules Verne. Our virtual tour of holiday travel will be related to the real places what we will try to present you. So, please fast the seat belt and get ready to enjoy. We will start from Portugal because of the reason that from this place in XV century Fernando Magellan Portuguese navigator starts his trip around the world. Honestly it was not really holiday travel trip but pure challenge. Portugal, westernmost country of Europe located In Iberian peninsula and is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the west and south and by Spain to the north and east. His capital Lisbon or known as white site, try to find out why. There are several reasons to make holiday travel in Portugal, Architecture, Cinema, Gastronomy, Music, Painting and Sport. Try to explore some of them and your dreams will become truth. It is on your own and we are continuing further as the Magellan did before few centuries ago.Next destination South America Brazil, one of the hottest destinations for holiday travel today. Copacabana and other known beaches on the planet. It is homeland of Coffee, Sugar cane, Carnivals and Football. Having holiday travel in this country is more than event. Going on the south as Magellan did, next visit of our Holiday Travel is Argentina. It is big country with rich history. Country is known for music, Argentina’s tango myth or reality. Argentina’s food, wide variety of Indigenous and Creole creations, which include empanadas, loco (a mixture of corn, beans, meat, bacon, onion, and gourd), the latter considered Argentina’s national beverage. Why don’t you taste it? Football here is way of living.Next step is to jump over the pacific, big challenge even for today’s traveler. If you take ticket on some modern cruiser than your will be in better position than seaman from XV century…Next destination is Manila Philippines… It is country of volcanoes’ and lakes. You can see Spanish and Chinese influence everywhere. There is interesting architecture all across Manila, serving as evidence to its multicultural past. If you spend your holiday travel here, don’t miss to pay attention to the Enchanted Kingdom, Divisioria market, and Nayong Filipino cultural park, Chinese cemetery, Splash Island and many others. Magellan finishes his history travel here, but the rest of the crew has continued further.Next destination what we will recommend is India. It is very difficult to mention what the ordinary travel might expect if he pass his holiday travel in India. India is quiet different story. It’s story by itself and has nothing common with the others. It is country of contrast, country where extreme poverty and extreme wealth live a few meters distance. We will have courage just to mention some of them Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Lotus Temple, Himalaya, Golden temple, India gate. You have to have several holidays’ trips in this country if you like to fill a small portion of the traveling potential of this country. To have holiday travel in India, first you need to prepare yourself.Next continent to visit is Africa known as black continent, and South African Republic as first target point, often informally known as the Transvaal Republic. It is country of diamonds, ecotourism and world FIFA 2010. Beautiful climate allows a very large number of national parks. There is cape Good Hope, which is dividing point between Atlantic and Indian Ocean. And at the end of this virtual trip we will get back to the starting point. Try to imagine Holiday Travel cruise starting from South Africa and ending at Portugal. You will travel close to Ghana, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Nigeria, Senegal, and Togo… etc. Finally we are back to the starting point but approaching from the east side and with one day additional in our travel diary

Traveling is my work, writing is my hobby. I want to share my stories online.More stories at http://www.holidaytravelguidetoday.com

One thing is for sure, each day in the travel industry is a new adventure!

Let’s turn for a moment to the benefits of a home travel business with New Travel Rewards. You will have the freedom of setting your own schedule, no bosses looking over your shoulder, and additional time to spend with family. There are some risks to consider, mainly that as an employee you won’t have someone taking taxes out of your paychecks every week, which can make tax season difficult, but if you plan well ahead, you can avoid this speed bump entirely. Many people find that they earn far more money this way than they did working for a larger corporation. Since you are running the business out of your house, you will have far less overhead than a traditional store-front business.

When we take the new liberty of having your own schedule and working hours, and then combine that with the exciting new career option of independent travel agent , you are left with a delightful combination of opportunities. You can focus on a particular niche of say, cruise ship travel , and explore the different places you can go, as well as the people you can go with. There are extremely popular cruises tours now of Alaska, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and more. You can even integrate activities into these trips if you are planning on being a tour operator as well, things like whale watching, wine tastings, or other exciting cultural events and increase your income even more!

Alternatively, you can focus on a niche of customers, for example, student groups. When considering this demographic, you will want to lean more towards summer, or spring break trips- making this an excellent option for those choosing to make this a part-time addition to their livelihoods. Students also tend to bring along less luggage, and are less concerned about staying in upscale accommodations, so you can concern yourself less with the overhead, and focus more on your attractions. This can be a great way for the students to get an in-depth experience of one particular place or way of living; and a great way for you to organize an excellent tour they will recommend to friends, classmates, and colleagues for years to come.

Ultimately, these are just a few in the wide galaxy of great reasons to consider a home based travel business as your next part-time or full-time career move, or even just a way to make some extra money on the side and travel for free! New Travel Rewards cab open a multitude of opportunities in the thrilling world of the independent travel agent.
